Rome

Last weekend, 10-13 June, Carmen and Anja flew to Rome for a weekend. I stayed home with the kids - I had lots of plans to take the kids to see Disney characters at a shopping centre, to a car show and out for lunch on the Saturday, but Jamie twisted her ankle on Friday evening and wasn't feeling well on the Saturday, so all my plans were scuppered and we had a quiet day at home.

The girls had an enjoyable but chaotic weekend in Rome. In retrospect, they should have either gone on a city break package or booked a guided tour in advance. As it was they spent most of the weekend hungry, thirsty and with tired legs standing in queues to get into the Vatican and the Collisseum, and working out how to use the buses and metro...
